My Frustrating NBA 2K15 Reloaded Situation
So I downloaded that NBA 2K15 Reloaded Update 2 last Tuesday night, right after finishing my stream. Double-clicked the game icon like always, expecting some sweet basketball action. Boom! Nothing happens. Just that spinning wheel for five seconds then poof – disappears. Tried again, same damn thing. Checked Task Manager and sure enough, the process dies immediately after launch. Felt like throwing my controller through the window.

What I Tried First
Went through all the basic crap first because I’m stubborn like that:
- Restarted my PC three times like an idiot
- Reinstalled the damn game from scratch (wasted two hours)
- Updated graphics drivers even though they were fine yesterday
- Ran as administrator with compatibility mode for Windows 8
Still got absolute nothing. Just that same disappearing act every single time. Started googling like crazy and found ten different “solutions” that all failed.
The Actual Fix That Worked
Finally stumbled on some buried forum post where a dude mentioned missing DLL files causing this mess. Here’s exactly what I did:
- Opened the game install folder (wherever you extracted that Reloaded version)
- Went to the _CommonRedist folder buried inside
- Ran vcredist_* AND vcredist_* back-to-back
- During installation clicked “Repair” when it gave me the option
- Rebooted my machine even though I hate doing it
Final Victory Lap
Clicked the game shortcut holding my breath – suddenly saw the 2K sports logo! Almost fell out of my chair. Game loaded perfectly, my saves were intact, and the stupid update actually worked. Moral of the story? Those stupid Microsoft runtime files screw everything up. If your game vanishes into thin air after updating, try repairing those redistributables before you rage quit. Saves you three hours of screaming at your monitor like I did.
