I was like, “Yeah, that’s the way to go, buddy!” Every time he got the ball, I tried to find the best play for him. Sometimes, I’d tell him to drive to the hoop, and he’d just plow through the defenders and score.
I also worked on getting him involved in the passing game. I’d pass the ball to him, and he’d dish it out to open teammates. It was like watching a well – oiled machine. And when he had a good look at the three – point line, I told him to take the shot. And boy, did he make some of those shots!
During time – outs, I adjusted the team’s strategy a bit. I focused on getting more screens for Domas so he could get free looks. And I told the other players to crash the boards when he took a shot, ’cause you never know where that ball’s gonna go.
As the game went on, I could see the impact Domas was having on the court. The Orlando Magic started to pull ahead. The other team was scrambling to defend him, and that opened up opportunities for the rest of the team.
By the end of the game, we had a solid win. Domas had a double – double, with a bunch of points and rebounds. I was stoked!
