Man so yesterday my cousin Jimmy texts me all fired up asking about Howell High’s football players because his kid might try out next year. I’m like sure no big deal we’ll just pull up their roster online right? How hard could it be?

First thing I did was grab my laptop and search “Howell high school football player list”. Totally expected it to pop right up. Nope. Got nothing but old news articles and some garbage forums. Even tried adding “2024 season” – still useless.
The school website circus
Alright fine let’s go straight to the source. Pulled up Howell High’s actual website. Found the Athletics section after digging through three menus. Big mistake. Their site’s more confusing than IKEA instructions. Clicked “Football” expecting rosters and got… a calendar from 2022 and coach’s contact info. What?
Then I noticed the tiny “Team Resources” link almost hidden at the bottom. Felt like finding buried treasure. Tapped it and bam! Password screen. Since when do public school rosters need logins? Tried every combo I could think of – even “football123”. Total fail.
The random PDF jackpot
Was ready to give up when I spotted this little download link under a bus schedule saying “Fall Sports Lists”. Clicked it thinking whatever. And holy crap there it was – “Howell_Football_*” like some hidden Easter egg.
Opened that bad boy and man what a mess. Looked like someone threw alphabet soup at a spreadsheet:

- Numbers scrambled everywhere
- Freshman mixed with seniors
- Two different #10s? Come on
- Position columns not even aligned right
Still managed to spot the key names. QB Brady Thompson? Kid’s got potential. That linebacker Rodriguez looks huge too. Took me longer to understand their stupid formatting than finding the dang thing.
Shot Jimmy a photo of the screen before the browser crashed. My verdict? Public schools make simple stuff needlessly complicated. And no that PDF wasn’t worth fighting their website.
