Well, I’ve always been into football, and I thought it’d be cool to check out some football clubs in Costa Rica as a beginner. So, I started my journey by doing a bit of online research. I was just sitting there at my desk, clicking away on my laptop, looking up different clubs in Costa Rica.

I made a list of the ones that seemed popular and beginner – friendly. There were quite a few, like Deportivo Saprissa, Alajuelense, and Herediano. I was like, “Wow, so many options!”

Next, I reached out to some expats and local football enthusiasts on social media. I sent them messages, asking about their experiences with these clubs. Some of them were really helpful, sharing stories about the club cultures, the training sessions, and the games.

After gathering all that info, I decided to start with Deportivo Saprissa. I booked a flight to Costa Rica, and as soon as I landed, I was like a kid in a candy store, excited to get to the club. I took a taxi straight to the club’s training ground.

When I got there, I introduced myself to the staff. They were pretty friendly, showed me around the facilities. I saw the huge stadium, the well – maintained training fields, and the locker rooms. I was just in awe.

I signed up for a beginner’s training session. The coach was this really energetic guy. He started us off with some basic warm – up exercises, like jogging around the field and doing some stretching. Then, we moved on to ball control drills. It was tough at first, but I kept at it.

During the breaks, I got to chat with the other beginners. We shared our love for football and our reasons for joining the club. It was a great atmosphere.

After a few days of training, I got to play in a small scrimmage game. I was so nervous at first, but once the ball was at my feet, all the nerves went away. I had a blast, running around, trying to score goals.

Overall, my experience with Deportivo Saprissa was amazing. It was a great way to start my football journey in Costa Rica. I learned a lot, made new friends, and most importantly, I had a ton of fun. If you’re a beginner looking to join a football club in Costa Rica, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
