So, I got this awesome South Africa rugby jersey, and I was like, “Damn, I gotta keep this thing looking good!” Here’s how I went about caring for it.

First, the Initial Check
I took a good look at my jersey. Checked for any loose threads or stains right off the bat. I mean, you gotta know what you’re dealing with, right? I found a little bit of dirt on the sleeve, probably from when I was cheering way too hard at the game.
Reading the Label
I know it sounds boring, but I actually read the care label. It told me what kind of wash it could handle. It said something about a gentle cycle, so I knew I couldn’t just throw it in with all my dirty jeans and stuff.
Pre – treating Stains
For that dirty spot on the sleeve, I grabbed some regular old laundry stain remover. I just squirted a bit on the stain and rubbed it in gently with my fingers. I let it sit there for a few minutes, like maybe 5 or 10, while I got the rest of the stuff ready for the wash.
Loading the Washer
I put the jersey in the washing machine by itself. I didn’t want it to get all messed up by other clothes. Then I added some mild laundry detergent. I didn’t go overboard with it, just the amount it said on the detergent bottle for a small load.
Starting the Wash
I set the washing machine to the gentle cycle, just like the label said. And I used cold water. I’ve heard hot water can shrink clothes and fade colors, and I sure as hell didn’t want that to happen to my precious jersey. Then I just hit start and let the machine do its thing.

Drying Time
When the wash was done, I took the jersey out. The label said to air – dry it, so I didn’t put it in the dryer. I found a nice, clean spot on my balcony and hung it up. I made sure it was hanging straight so it wouldn’t get all wrinkled.
Final Inspection
After it was dry, I gave it another look. The stain was gone, and the colors still looked bright. I was so relieved! I also checked for any loose threads again, and there were none. So, my South Africa rugby jersey was looking as good as new.
That’s my whole process of caring for my South Africa rugby jersey. It’s not too hard, but you gotta pay attention to the little details. And now I know my jersey will last me a long time, so I can keep showing off my love for South Africa rugby!
