So, I’ve always been into vintage stuff, and one day I just got this crazy idea to start collecting vintage rugby shirts. It all began when I was rummaging through a local thrift store. I was just kind of looking around, not really expecting much, when I stumbled upon this old rugby shirt.

Finding the First Shirt
I picked it up and looked it over. The colors were faded, but there was something about it, you know? It had this old – school logo on it, and the fabric felt really thick and sturdy. I asked the guy at the counter how much it was, and he said it was a steal at $15. I didn’t even think twice, I just handed over the money and walked out with my first vintage rugby shirt.
Getting Hooked
After that, I was hooked. I started going to different thrift stores around town, like a detective on a mission. I’d go in, start by looking at the racks near the entrance, then slowly make my way to the back. Sometimes I’d spend hours in a single store, just flipping through shirts. I remember one time, I found a shirt that looked like it was from the 70s. It had these cool stripes and a big patch on the sleeve. I was so excited, I almost jumped up and down in the store.
Expanding the Search

As my collection started to grow, I realized I needed to expand my search. I started going to flea markets on the weekends. I’d wake up early, grab a coffee, and head out. At the flea markets, there were always these old guys with boxes full of vintage clothes. I’d have to bargain with them, you know? Try to get the price down. One time, I saw this amazing shirt, but the guy wanted $50 for it. I told him I only had $30, and after a bit of back – and – forth, he finally agreed to sell it to me.
Online Hunting
But thrift stores and flea markets weren’t enough. I started looking online. I’d spend evenings sitting on my couch, scrolling through different websites. It was a whole new world. There were so many shirts from all over the place. I found a shirt from a rugby club in Scotland, and I just had to have it. I clicked the ‘buy’ button, and a few days later, it showed up at my doorstep. It was like Christmas.
The Collection Grows
Now, my collection has grown to a pretty good size. I’ve got shirts from different decades, different clubs, and different countries. I love looking at them all lined up in my closet. Each shirt has a story, a little piece of history. And every time I go out looking for a new shirt, I’m like a kid in a candy store, hoping to find that next great piece for my collection.
