Season tickets are coming up, he wants to plan vacations around away games, the usual drill. Honestly? I hadn’t seen a finalized thing anywhere official. That got me thinking: maybe other people are scrambling for this info too. The Frustrating Info Search
First stop, obviously, the official school website. You’d think that’s the source, right? Went straight there, browsed the athletics section… nada. Zilch. Just last year’s schedule still sitting there like a ghost haunting the page. Even clicked on “Football” specifically. Old news, man. Felt like hitting a dead end right away.
Next up, the GHSA website – that’s the Georgia High School Association, the big governing body. They usually have schedules somewhere. Poked around their schedules section, used the search bar. Found TCC, sure, but… clicking through just showed me… last season’s schedule again! Seriously? Talk about frustrating. Kept trying different links on that site for like 20 minutes. No luck finding 2024 dates.
Turning to the Local Newspaper
Alright, official routes failing, time for Plan B: the good ol’ local newspaper, the Thomasville Times-Enterprise. Figured they’d have published something by now, preseason hype and all. Went straight to their sports section online. Scrolled, scrolled… bingo! Found an article specifically titled about the 2024 schedule being released. Hallelujah!
Opened it up. It had the full list!
- All the opponents
- Home and away games clearly marked
- And crucially, the kickoff times and dates!
Exactly what Don needed, exactly what I was hunting for. Grabbed a screenshot instantly – learned long ago that web pages can change.
Putting It Together
Now, just copying the list ain’t super helpful, I wanted it clear and easy to scan. So I fired up my trusty spreadsheet.
- Made column headers: Date, Opponent, Location, Time.
- Then it was just grunt work, carefully typing each game from the newspaper listing into its own row. Double-checked every one against the screenshot to make sure I didn’t mess up a date or time moving things over.
- Highlighted all the HOME games in the location column – makes ’em pop, you know? For the away ones, I just put “Away”. Simple.
That spreadsheet became the master copy.
Writing It Up & Adding Flavor
Finally, cracked open my blog editor. Started typing straight in. Said exactly what happened: “Hey folks, hit up the school site first, nada. GHSA? More nada. Local paper saved the day!” Then I dropped that clean table I’d made straight into the post. Made sure the dates were ordered correctly, times clearly shown.
Didn’t stop there though. Had to add a little something extra, right? At the end, threw in my two cents:
- Pointed out that brutal 3-game away stretch in September – ouch! Fans traveling better pack their snacks.
- Highlighted the season opener at home (gotta get folks excited!) and that huge final regular season home game – always a banger.
- Emphasized checking the school site or paper for any last-minute changes because hey, stuff happens.
Hit publish, poured myself a cold one. Another practical search documented. Hope it saves some Yellow Jacket fans a headache!
